hi matt, what engine is in your mini was it honda?

Yeah the engine and gearbox are from a 1998 japanese spec Honda civic type R

id be interested in seeing that,

not seen one in the flesh yet, only the kad and motorbike conversion (also done by kad)

what sort of bhp are you producing?

Hi Kad, the motor is making about 185bhp on standard management i've also got a mugen honda ecu for it aswell but not sure if there are any gains as it hasnt been dyno'd with it fitted.
I take it you have a kad set up, those motors sound sweet is it on carbs or injection?

yer i have a kad full setup, engine, brakes(6 pots), alloys, suspension,anti roll bars, tie rods the lot, everything they build pretty much, even the bonnet stay lol

carbs all the way bud twin webber 40s, 146bhp

its less than a second slower than martin walkers 1800vtec (195bhp)dta engine management plus jenvey throttle boddies, this time was found on the dvd ultimate mini extreme racing around curborough

vtec 53.09seconds
kad 53.76seconds

was thinking about getting a vtec as well but just about to start the re build on the kad mini so wont have time to do anything else

Yeah i know the one i've got that dvd, were you the owner then or did you buy it off that guy on the dvd

na dave the old owner is a mate of mine who works at kad, so i had first dibs on it when it came up for sale, never looked back,

only difrent things on it from then is a oil cooler and an ap racing master cylinder for the brakes.

its going to be put into a hard top this time, so might well have a convertable shell for sale in the near future

I think i'd prefer a hardtop should be awesome when finished, alot of expensive bits on that car

the soft top looks great but like you say expensive car with no roof, hmm easy pickings lol hence the 1500 quid alarm imobiliser plus tracking direct to the police cars

so hard top this time round, new colour, race inside to minimise weight.

i expect yours is a right head turner mate,

Hi Amy, yeah i'll be at Bristol, it should be good thursday to meet a few like minded people.

Hi Kad, light weight is the way to go, two seats and a steering wheel, i dont think mine turns heads that much it just looks like its got arches and big wheels i've kept all the mini geometry and suspension so it doesnt really stand out like most vtec's that use the metro subframes.

matt i knew ive seen you before!!!!!! at the last malvern show, i didnt see your mini tho.
