Hello from sleepy Eardisley! Empty Hello from sleepy Eardisley!

Post  Sidney Fri Oct 23, 2009 1:53 am

I just found the site. Didnt realise Herefordshire had a mini club... well chuffed!

Im Sidney, Im 32, a farmer/builder from Eardisley.

Bought my first mini about a month ago. Always wanted one, I was brought home from hospital when I was born in a blue mini 850 van! The first car I can remember riding in was my parents bright yellow Clubman estate (woody wagon). Several friends had minis as first cars back in the day, I had to make do with a 1979 VW Derby! NICE!! Great to finaly get my hands on one. Always really wanted a Red cooper when I was a lad, unfortunately due to an accident a few years back (also in a mini 850 Laughing ) I have to have an auto. After looking around, backing out, and generally fannying about I finaly bought a 1996 Mini sprite SPI from merseyside. Love it!! Previous owner kitted it out with 12" cooper wheels, stripes, white roof, fletcher centre pipe etc etc. Ive given it a good clean up, and added spots, cooper mirrors, 1275gt steering wheel(I think!!, extended shift lever, aston cap, K&N (god knows why Rolling Eyes ) and some luverly retro black Vinyl bucket seats!

Just sorting through the wiring at the mo as it seems to have been hacked about a bit and joined up with bullet connectors, causing an intermittent missfire. Also got a faulty Lambda sensor that I will be changing at the weekend, work permitting.

Have 2 good friends also with mini projects, so will get them to sign up.

Hopefully meet some of you in the near future, unfortunately I cant get the time to go to malvern at weekend Crying or Very sad Sending a shopping list with two of my mates who are going!

The day I got her home:

Hello, and welcome, I'm new myself.

there are some brilliant lanes around eardisley for driving minis round. Always remember putting my first mini in a ditch up one of those lanes less than a week after passing my test!!

Thanks for the warm welcome all. Its been a busy few weeks, lots of cold evenings in the garage!

    Heres an update:

    She is now sporting:

    Superfin's
Classic black Buckets, retrimmed rear seat to match
    Maniflow LCB,
Genuine sportspack arches from a 2000 cooper, colour match not perfect but hoping to respray next year
    12x6 deep dish minilights
    Alloy handle kit
    Big rally styleeee black mudflaps

Lots of paint rennovation and touching in, Loads of wiring needed doing, loom had been butchered about, New Lambda sensor and shes running sweet now, no Error codes on diagnostic (I have error code reader for 90's Vauxhalls Rovers and Fords and full diagnostic for rover MEMS and ERIC if it helps anyone). Passed Mot last friday with no advisories!! YAY!!!

De cat pipe going on when I get a chance, and a pair of huge chrome Cibie replicas. Cool

Poor quality phone photo, but this is what shes looking like now:

Hi greg, only just noticed your reply. I am just waiting a week before getting rid of the wheels, may have the chance of another mini localy through a family friend. If that falls through I will definately be selling them. If you are still interested I will give you a shout:)

Locely sunny morning and the min was nice and clean, so took some proper photos.
Have fitted some cibbie esq spots, removed the cat, and fitted a stage 3 head and minisport 1.5 roller rockers, rejigged the hand control, fitted an OMP Corsica steering wheel, and some bonnet hooks since my last post.. I really should copy this over to the projects section!! Rolling Eyes

    Hi Sidney,
As Joe Walsh once said "Welcome to the club"
I am new to the club as well.
I am looking forward to the meeting on 7th Jan, my first as I was away for the last one, working that is.
I am local to you, Whitney On Wye, perhaps a club meeting at the Rhydspence Inn might be possible at some point next year.
    See you on the 7th?
    Regards,
    Mike.
