HomeI stopped off at co-op today and sat in the car as Steve ran in and there was a terrible smell of burning. When we got home and engine turned off there seemed to be smoke coming out of the exhaust. I can't find the source but its gotta be coming from somewhere, anyone got any ideas!!

Was the smoke actually coming out of the tail pipe at the rear or just off the exhaust itself?, if its the latter it could be oil leaking onto it or check there are no plastic bags stuck to the catalyst if you have one fitted.

Is it smoking when accelerating or just on idle could you make out what colour the smoke was? white, blue or black?

I can't tell if its coming out when accelerating but it is coming out when the engine is off. almost like whatever is still burning slightly cos its still hot. Can't make out the colour it looks grey.
